Summit Goals
The summit goals are to:

  1. Engage state leaders in these sectors in exploring why and how best to support a statewide network of cross-sector teams from LMI communities in seeking to remove the digital divide and strengthen local pathways into living wage careers.
  2. Assist local leaders from these sectors in the state’s LMI communities to identify and begin developing strategies for addressing their local challenges relating to digital and economic inclusion.
  3. Engage resource providers in strengthening their collaboration with one another and in helping state and local leaders tap their assistance in more integrated, impactful ways.

8:15 – 8:30 am             Welcome and brief agenda walk-through:  Dr. Paul Resta, chair NCDE board, and Dr. Bob McLaughlin, NCDE 
                                               executive director.  The Conley Center Room.
 
8:30 – 8:40 a.m.          On the role of philanthropic leaders in fostering systemic collaboration for educational and economic opportunity in                                                    low-income communities in  the digital age. Ms. Celine Coggins, executive director, Grantmakers For                                                                                        Education.     The Conley Center Room.

8:40 – 8:45 a.m.          Introduction of Barry Wides.    The Conley Center Room.

                                              Keynote address (via videoconference):  Eliminating Digital Divide Barriers to Financial and Economic Inclusion.

9:20 – 10:05 a.m.       The Digital Equity Walk -- an interactive activity for identifying  digital divide barriers to careers in computer science
                                              and other living wage fields.  Led by Jackney Prioly Joseph, director, career readiness initiatives, MA Business Alliance                                                for Education.   The Conley Center Room..
 
10:05 – 11:15 a.m.     Concurrent Breakout Sessions (refreshments available throughout the morning)

  1. LMI Community Teams: What are our communities’ greatest barriers to financial, economic and digital inclusion? Facilitated by Dr. Paul Resta.  The New England Room.
  2. State leaders and policy makers: What are the most salient policy and programmatic initiatives in NH to address financial, economic and digital inclusion? Facilitated by Dr. Bob McLaughlin   The Conley Center room.
  3. Resource providers: What key resources does each participating provider bring to financial, economic and/or digital inclusion?  Facilitated by Susan Ballard, vice-president, NCDE.  The Boston Room.
 
11:15 - 11:30 a.m.      Concurrent groups report out.  The Conley Center room.
 
11:30 am – 12:15 p.m.   Showcase: Exemplary Economic and Digital Inclusion Resource Providers.  The Conley Center Room and The

  2. State leaders and policy makers: How can we foster sustained coordination of financial, economic and digital inclusion policy & action? What support do we need?  The Conley Center Room
  3. Resource providers: How can we collaborate with one another in order to provide coherent, integrated support to LMI teams, state leaders and policy makers?  The Boston Room.
